To comply with the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2025 and the Australian Digital Capability Framework (ADCF), we must assesses digital capability for both students and staff. This ensures all participants are adequately prepared for technology-enhanced training, assessment, and communication within the online learning environment.
All prospective students are required to complete a Digital Literacy Assessment as part of the application and pre-enrolment process. This assessment determines whether learners have the foundational digital skills necessary to participate effectively in online learning activities, communication platforms, and digital assessment systems.
Assessment outcomes are aligned with the six domains of the Australian Digital Capability Framework (ADCF):
- Digital Identity and Wellbeing
Demonstrating safe, responsible, and ethical use of digital tools and online environments. - Information, Data, and Media Literacies
Accessing, evaluating, interpreting, and applying information obtained from digital sources. - Communication, Collaboration, and Participation
Using digital platforms, including email, learning management systems, and video conferencing tools, to communicate and participate effectively. - Digital Learning and Development
Managing personal learning through online systems, self-directed study, and digital learning resources. - Creation, Problem Solving, and Innovation
Using digital tools to create, complete, and submit assessment tasks and learning activities. - Technical Proficiency
Operating computers, mobile devices, and commonly used software applications required for study.
Learners who do not meet the required digital literacy threshold are provided with targeted support and guidance prior to enrolling on their chosen course. This approach ensures equitable access to training, supports learner engagement and retention, and meets the RTO’s obligations under the Standards for learner readiness and support.
