STUDYING WITH US
In some circumstances, this may affect your ability to keep studying – especially if employment or placement is mandatory for enrolment such as for the Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or Diploma of Veterinary Nursing. In these instances, you will be given a grace period of 2 months to find another placement or employment to meet course eligibility. If you are unable to find a new clinic, you’ll have to withdraw from the course.
When you do commence at a new workplace, we will require all the approvals for the workplace and mentors to be completed again.
The approval forms can be found in your placement area or the Help Box in the Learning Centre.
COVID-19 Policy Exceptions
ACM40418 Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing Students
STANDARD POLICY: If you lose your job, you have 2 months to gain another job or you must withdraw from the course. You must still continue to study your theory.
TEMPORARY POLICY: If you lose your job due to redundancy or termination, you have 6 months to gain another job or you must withdraw from the course. You must still continue to study your theory.
We hope this increase in allowable unemployment assists student to gain new employment, or at the very least the opportunity to finish as many units as possible.
This new policy is only in place whilst COVID-19 is dramatically affecting workplace operations. It will be repealed as the COVID-19 pandemic resolves, or the industry is able to function at normal capacity, whichever is sooner as determined by economic data and VNS review.
