Writing case studies is an incredibly important element of your veterinary nursing studies for a number of reasons, including;
- The application of previously knowledge based skills in a hands-on manner
- Bringing together many different elements of learning into a single scenario
- Demonstration of critical thinking within widely variable parameters
- Providing an opportunity to question and evaluate protocols
- Gain a greater understanding of how different elements of veterinary nursing techniques work together
- Gain an understanding of the effects of how different nursing and medical interventions can influence a patient, and in different ways (i.e. physiologically)
This guide will take you through the steps of writing a case study and how to present your information. We also give you examples of passages from case studies that are a pass or credit and above level, as well as examples of what would not pass.
Diploma students are expected to present the level of information in the ‘Credit+’ examples as a standard pass
