SHOULD I TEACH OUT OR TRANSITION?
This depends on your individual circumstances and progress in your current course to date. If you can complete your current course requirements before the January 2023 cut off, then we highly recommend that you do so. This avoids the additional study time required for the new qualification, and additional course fees.
If you are unable to meet the teach out cut off, then transition is your best option.
Please feel free to call Student Assist to discuss the best option for you.
HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?
If you commenced after May 2022, you will just be required to pay the difference between the new course and the old. We will not result any units until you are transitioned so we can apply all your payments to date to the new qualification.
If you commenced prior to May 2022, it's a little more complex as it depends on your individual circumstances. How much money have you paid for course fees to date? What units, if any, have you passed? Have you started work that cannot be credited? When did you start? So many variables!
We can provide you with a transition plan and costs that will apply to your individual circumstances. However, these will only apply if you complete and pass (subjects and placement) we put onto that plan. If you don't get to complete the set work, the price will change accordingly based on your progress and results.
To help you understand the likely costs, we've put together the following guidance on likely fees for common scenarios. These presume you have paid your current course fees in full, so you can see the real difference in course price. If you are still paying off your course fees, then your total transition fees may be much higher (as we can only deduct what you have paid to date).
