SEVERE WEATHER SUPPORT

THIS INFORMATION ONLY APPLIES TO STUDENTS RESIDING AND/OR WORKING/PLACEMENT IN FLOOD AFFECTED AREAS

Our thoughts continue to be with all our students and staff who have been affected by the severe flooding in South East Queensland and New South Wales. Our entire team is working hard to do whatever they can to assist those impacted by the floods, and help minimise any impacts on your study.

We have put together a range of options that may help you navigate these trying times and reduce just a little of the stress that you are feeling right now.

WHAT SUPPORT CAN ACVN OFFER ME?

NEW LEARNING RESOURCES

If your learning resources have been damaged, we can send you a new copy to an address safe to receive them.

PAUSE PAYMENTS

We are very aware than your focus right now will be on obtaining and paying for essential items. We can pause your course instalments for up to 2 months to allow you some breathing room. Normal policies regarding course fee payments will still apply (ie your qualification will not be issued until fully paid for, even if all work is complete). Past 2 months and you can apply for further changes under the normal Financial Hardship policy.

STUDY INTERMISSION

For those of you very affected and unable to study at all due to damage to your home, limited or no access to the internet, reduced or no access to your work or placement clinic etc, we can offer you up to a free 3 month extension which includes putting your study on hold short term so you're not expected to upload any assessments.

It is important to note that at this stage, all teachout dates still apply - we are unable to adjust these.

WELLBEING

We are able to make additional sessions with Bree, our wellbeing coach, available to you. Please book sessions with her via the wellbeing section of the website.

RESUBMISSION DATE WAIVER

We will waive the 7 day resubmission rule for all affected students for the next 3 months. Just get them in when you can.

PRACTICAL ASSESSMENT OPTIONS

You have access to alternative assessment options other than video submissions through booking online live zoom assessments, or in person assessments where we have Educators available.

We understand that some workplaces have also been affected by the floods, and if we can assist with equipment or supplies to help you complete your assessments tasks - we will. We have a range of equipment and mannequins for hire, and can arrange many consumables for you, allowing you to complete some tasks at home. Depending on what you need, there may be a small fee to cover this, but we will do out utmost to keep costs as low as possible.

We're hoping to get some workshops back up and running soon to provide more options for training and assessment to occur.
